I want to upgrade to a sand filter pump instead of flow aster pump that came with pool. My question is ...will the intex 2100 work on my pool before I order it?

I have the coleman 18x9x48 pool. Holds 3913 gallons… My question is- We are looking to upgrade to a sand filter pump instead of the junky 1500 filter pump that came with it. Will the intex fittings work for it… And also, should we buy the 4000gph or will the 3000gph work?
