My dog chewed up my cord on my pool pump. What kind and where do I get a replacement plug and cord? The pump is brand new and still good!

First I have to ask, is the dog OK? If it was plugged in while he was chewing could have been a shocking experience.

There should be a plate on the back of the pump to let you access the connections. Just unhook 'em and take the chewed up pieces to a decent hardware store (read: mom-n-pop place) and the clerk should be able to find you something suitable. Given a choice, go with a bigger gauge - smaller number. Yes, 12 gauge is bigger than 14 is bigger than 16 and so on.

+1 on the mom-n-pop place - they will actually be able to give good advice to go along with the right part.
If you think Fido will be back for seconds, you can also pick up something from the mom-n-pop place to run the cord through prior to attaching it to the motor. A piece of flexible conduit might buy you the time to notice him chewing before he does anything to the cord, but it will make the cord "stiff" and hard to move around…
