So I had seen the thread about emptying standard Nature2 cartridges but mine that was inherited with the pool turned out to be something called Nature2 express. It's fully enclosed, no separate cartridge inside the housing.
So I decided to just drill it out and empty. 3/16"drill bit and took out the bottom grids.
Was careful not to break the center column. Turned it over and shook all the metal balls out. There was some foam material in there, pulled that out with a pliers then everything came out quicker.
I chipped the threads in my enthusiasm but it installed back in empty just fine.
No leaks!
