Just Starting Out. Need Advice About Leaking Pool

Hello,

I bought a home that has an in ground, gunite pool (50'x20' and approx 50k gallons) with a Hayward pump and DE filters.

I tried to fill the pool but got to a point where I couldn't get the water level to increase. So I decided to drain the pool. I drained it, pumped it dry, swept it clean, scrubbed it, etc and I made the following discoveries:

1) The pool has a caulked seam or joint along the bottom (where the side walls meet the bottom). In some places the caulk looks like it has an epoxy on top of it. The joint is 3/8" in most places but widens out to almost 2" in others.

2) One light leaks and I think this is why the pool wouldn't fill above a certain level ( the level of the light)

3) There is also a crack in one wall.

Should I:

A) just replace the light and try to refill the pool?

Or

B) as long as I have the pool empty, should I go ahead and remove and replace the caulk in the joint at the bottom of the pool?

And

Should fix the crack as well?

Pictures attached and any advice is much appreciated!
