while i'm thrilled with my pool, i didn't put it in. my personal pride is the pool shed i added 2 years ago and the layout and upgrades i did last year..put a lot of time and money into making it a "troublefree pool" experience! so, hope you don't mind if i post some shots:

2nd of 2 poolsheds. the other one is for hoses, toys, mesh cover, etc. picture what was there before with all equipment except for the swg. it was literally the size in all regards of a doghouse..when we moved in, i knew it would have to go..and go soon

my main relay panel (adjustable heater shutoff, relays to shut off the heater, swg and pool pump, slaved to an intermatic timer)

heater, pump, plumbing, blah blah blah:

my lovely swg and one of the my storeage shelfs that as you can see..i use!

some perspective required..the shed is actually a good size..about 8 x 10 and 11ft high! my house is 3600 sq ft and quite tall so the shed looks tiny next to it see that stump in the middle of the shot? a birch tree when we moved in that was about 6 inches away from hitting the concrete on the pool wall..don't know if it would have gone through eventually..wasn't taking the chance

everything's ready to go..pool is clean and warm and a perfect southern alberta day..jump in!

thanks folks..i really do appreciate that..i put a lot of sweat and blood and moneyinto my pool project..and taking on reroofing my house by myself last summer as well ,getting carpal tunnel in both arms/wrists in the process 2 days into it. (i wasn't stupid enough to keep using a hammer, went out and bought an air compressor and nail gun..but the carpal tunnel stuck with me for 6 months and still flairs occasionally. i have a lot more respect for roofers now and whatever money they make, they earn it) my wife says i should buy rental properties and be a landlord cause i'm willing to try to fix pretty much anything. i'd say 95% of the time, it works out fine on my own

I'm pretty handy, too. However, I am sure slow at it and some things, I've sorely learned now to call the pro's. I've done some electrical work, some minor carpentry, some plumbing, myself. That plumbing gets me every time. It takes me 3 days to get done what a pro could do in a half hour, I swear. By the time I go back and forth umpteen times to the HW stores and buying the tools I need, I could have paid a pro. LOL!

I really feel for you dealing with carpal tunnel. I don't have that, but I do have ulnar tunnel and right now I am having some sciatica problems. It all hurts, doesn't it? Geesh, my body just doesn't want to cooperate with my ambitions any more.

hey buggs..i think through all the trips over 15 years of building stuff, i've finally accumulated every tool i could possibly need.. somehow, i continue to need screws even though i have a huge collection..seems like never quite the right one yeah, the carpal gave me a lot of sleepless nights..aching wrists and hands were one thing. i think the numbness in it's own way was wrose. last summer, i was cleaning the pool of heavy leafs and felt a sproing in my left forearm..tendinitis..which, being a guy, i ignored and assumed would go away for about 4 months until it got so bad i went to the doctor..tried anti-inflammatories, then a cortizone shot..not good news for a guitar player..and still didn't go away..went to a specialist in may who said it was either get surgery which doesn't have better than a 70% chance of working..and live with 3 months downtime..or try to manage it..so, i'm trying to manage it. has it's good days and bad days..better than it was at one point, but i'll tell you, i really am careful now getting leaves out of the pool

Ouch, dealing with both tendonitis and carpal tunnel - owie. I agree, the numbness is difficult to deal with. Well, here's to both of us, that our bodies get better.

thanks my friend..you too..i was just reading up on sciatica . knew i heard the reference before but couldn't remember what it was..that sounds terrible to live with. feel for ya!
