Hayward SWG "Generating" light not turning off

Is the generating light supposed to turn off when the pump is turned off? mine just stays lit and I have to switch it to the off position. any ideas?

It sounds like you have power going to the SWG all the time and it is not connected to the pump circuit. The best fix is to connect the SWG power leads to the pump circuit. If you can't do that then you better put a timer on the SWG so it turns on/off while synced to the pump run times.
