White pool stains on liner removel

Hi guys new to forum. The question I have
,we got ready to open up our pool this year pulled off the cover and the walls are covered with a hard white scale only suggestions for removal, try scrubbing it won't move

Looks like calcium scaling to me ... from letting the pH stay too high with high CH levels.
There is no way this just appeared over the winter above the water line. Must have been on the surface when the water was still full.

Usually you need to acid wash ... although I am not sure if that is what is done for a vinyl pool too.

Looks like Calcium scale. Mix up some 1:3 Muriatic acid and water and squirt it on a small section. Calcium will foam up and dissolve. If it does, someone's got a whole lot of work ahead of them.

Can you use acid wash on a vinyl pool liner? Thanks guys
