New pool

Hey guys. I have a new 5000 gallon
Pool
Intex ultra frame.
Got the Taylor 2006 kit
been testing.
I have 4 ppm FC
.2 CC
ph is currently 7.2
total alkalinty is 110-120
test turned purple at 100 then red at 110 -120
i haven't added any borax
I did add muriatic acid due to ph being 7.8-8.0
I have a trichlor puck floating around trying to get my
cya up. Haven't tested it yet. Figure no point.

Any suggestions or am I doing alright ?

shoild I raise ph some with borax?
if so I'm afraid I'll be over the 120 mark for alkalinity
pool has been running for a week now. Temps are 63-65 right now.

Welcome to TFP!!!

The trichlor puck is acidic, so I would raise the pH a little bit with borax.

Do not worry about the TA ... you could almost ignore it completely. Just keep the pH and FC in line. Usually the TA will balance itself out just by keeping the pH in range.
