Both are getting old so thinking about replacing. Been reading about variable speed pumps, seems to be the way to go. Prefer cartridge filter system. Any suggestions as to a combination of units? I have 5 dogs so there is a lot of dog hair run thru the system. Live in Florida, run pump about 8 hours a day. Have your test kit, has done wonders when I have had issues...thanks.

If you go with a variable speed pump I would suggest one of the smaller Hayward pumps like the MaxFlo VS assuming you do not have an automation system or any extensive water features given the size of your pool.
