just wondering if you can safely mix bleach and calcium hypochloride together when shocking pool water.
what i mean is lets say im trying to shock pool water with cal hypochloride to rid algae and the water is at shock level and i run out of calcium hypochloride can you use bleach in that shocked water as a replacement . will it be safe?

thank you tom

As long as you don't add them together everything's fine :) When you run out of the cal- hypo just let the water circulate an hour before adding the liquid. All chlorine forms hypochloros (sp?) acid in the water what you don't want is the concentrated types mixing before the water turns it into hypochloros acid - hence the 1 hour wait.

Good luck with the algae!
