You mentioned having to fix your threaded ball valves. I would suggest changing those to ball valves that include unions. Makes it much easier for maintenance...
Ah, I see. The problem wasn’t with the valve itself though, but rather my inexperienced job of using pipe sealant with PVC. It was the threads that were leaking.
Ahh ok, well something to consider for the future. I have exactly the same pool and will be hard plumbing soon. So far I only upgraded the single inlet when I upgraded the the 2500 Krystal clear pump. I also added the same skimmer as you
That would be a good idea if doing it from scratch, but not worth it now, until mine fail.
Is that the cartridge pump or the sand? I’m second guessing getting the sand filter, all I do is vacuum sand out of the pool. Guess you get what you pay for...
No I didn't get the sand filter, and currently regretting it. I believe the sand coming back in will dissipate over time. Look into the Intex auto vacuum. It's a little pricey this time of year, but as soon as we hit the off season the price drops a little.
I’ve had it for 3 seasons now, and still shooting sand into the pool, about a handful every week or so. I’ll look at the auto vacuum though, could be a good addition!
