I have no idea what's going on. I just tested and the FC is up to 17. Its like all the bleach I put in the pool the past week just showed up.

You are using pool math for adjusting your levels right? Did you add more LC since your last measurements 19 hours ago?

I cleaned the filter cartridges, would that cause the FC to go up?
I did not add any LC my target FC is 10-12 and at 17 I am over.

Pool Math would have me add 4lbs 15 oz of washing soda to up PH and 18 lbs of baking soda to up TA
and 2 lbs 4 ozs of calcium chloride to up CH, then add 4 lbs of stabilizer to up the CYA.

The pH test is not valid when the FC > 10ppm it will read artificially high. So your pH must be really low. You should certainly raise the pH to about 7.2

No need to test CH and TA every time. Also, no need to post TC, it's meaningless.

Yes, I filled it up when I cleaned the filter.
The black dot never goes away on the CYA test.
I forgot to mention that the pool water is much cleared now I can see bottom at the deep end.

Well, that is why your FC is so high and your pH is plummeting you need to turn down the feeder output apparently.
This is crazy the test this morning has the FC down to 7.5. All of the others are the same.

Borax is the best way to raise PH. Or aeration.

Do I keep the FC up to SLAM 10 and raise ph and cya and if so in what order?

I started the SLAM two weeks ago and the water just cleared up yesterday and I didn't want to do something to mess that up.
Is the water clear? Are you ready to see if you are finished?
You are done when:
CC is 0.5 or lower
You pass an OCLT (ie*overnight FC loss test*shows a loss of 1.0 ppm or less)
And the water is clear.
When all three are true, you are done SLAMing and can allow the FC to drift down to normal levels

I have a CC of .5 and water is clear and right now my FC is 4 so if my FC is 3 in the morning I'm done.
