Bought a house and got a pool

I cleaned the filter cartridges, would that cause the FC to go up?
I did not add any LC my target FC is 10-12 and at 17 I am over.

todays test
CL 3+, PH 6.8, FC 15.5, CC 1, TC 16.5, CH 250, TA 50, CYA ?.

Should I add what pool math wants or just go after some items?

Pool Math would have me add 4lbs 15 oz of washing soda to up PH and 18 lbs of baking soda to up TA
and 2 lbs 4 ozs of calcium chloride to up CH, then add 4 lbs of stabilizer to up the CYA.

Should I add what pool math wants or just go after some items?

The pH test is not valid when the FC > 10ppm it will read artificially high. So your pH must be really low. You should certainly raise the pH to about 7.2

Are there still tablets in your chlorine feeder?

What is your CYA?

Is the water clear? Are you ready to see if you are finished?

You are done when:
CC is 0.5 or lower
You pass an OCLT (ie*overnight FC loss test*shows a loss of 1.0 ppm or less)
And the water is clear.
When all three are true, you are done SLAMing and can allow the FC to drift down to normal levels
