On the Aqualink panel, I notice in the heater section 3 buttons... Pool, Spa, Solar..... What is Solar?

The solar button is for a solar pool heater(if you have one installed). If you have pipes running up to your roof or black plastic panels on the roof(or elsewhere) then you have solar heat. If you don't have any panels, then the button might not do anything, or it might be set to control something else beside solar.
