What are the difference between the Nylon, Nylon/Wire or all Wire brushes besides the obvious material being used?

I have a plaster pool and was thinking of geting a Nylon/Wire combo brush to use once a month or so for a deeper cleaning. Would this be a good or bad idea? Would it hurt the plaster? I do use a Wall Whale so I thought I would include that for information.

Thanks.

Nylon is for vinyl, fiberglass, tile, and plaster that is less than one year. (Plaster includes any exposed aggregate and marcite finish, btw!) Combo brushes are for older plaster. All stainless are for algae (very stubborn green algae and also the ONLY brush for black algae.)

You CAN unscrew the Wall Whale from the nylon brush it comes with and screw it on a combo brush if your plaster is over a year old. Newer plaster is really too soft for anyting other than a nylon brush.

I picked up a 50/50 stainless - nylon brush last night as well as a new Wall Whale. Brushed the pool with it this morning and have to say that I really like this brush with the Wall Whale.

Thanks for the information!! :goodjob:
