Oh boy...my head's a-spinnin' Please help get my cloudy, Algae SWG pool in order!

So, cleaned the niche, scrubbed and scrubbed. It was a busy day so I didnt get all of the testing done I wanted, but was fairly even today. Here goes take 2 on OCLT. I am optimistic, but realistic. Yesterday, I added 5 gallons of 10%, today was 2.5 gal on 8.25%. We'll see though.

FC CC Gallons added
6/4/2015 6:15 16.5 0.5 0.5
6/4/2015 11:00 15.5 0.5 1
6/4/2015 16:42 18.5 0.5 0.25
6/4/2015 22:00 15.5 0.5 0.5
6/4/2015 23:00 18 0.5 n/a

Thanks again for the encouragement!

WE PASSED!!!! The water is crystal clear (so much so we can see the plaster flaws and how its gonna need a resurfacing soon) and the algae is now only some slight discoloring that is just about gone. I tested last night and got 18/.05. this morning....18/.05! I tested twice to be sure.

If that jives with your thoughts, please let me know what you think

Free Chlorine 18
Combined Chlorine 0.05
Total Chlorine 18.05
PH 7.7
TA (in Calcium Carbonate) 70
Calcium Hardness 240
CYA 40
Salt 1000 (which I dont trust. I'm using brand new Aquachek strips and in two back to back tests, I got 300ppm and 1000ppm - and every check (at least 2 at a time) has been off noticeably) Salt cell is reading 3gpl (3000 PPM, which seems more accurate because I dumped 80+ lbs into it before the SLAM).

Alright guys, 3 days since passing the OCLT and 2 days of swimming and my levels are still good, the SWCG is running at 40% *(probably still a bit high for the FC at 8 right now), but I want to be sure it stays sanitized while we're travelling. Thank you so much for your help, I had no idea SLAM'ng was so easy and would work that well. Admittedly, my pool wasnt a catastrophy to start with, but this method is completely doable for the novice such as me!

Thanks again, and see you around!
