Pump upgrade

Hello everyone. Pool is up and running and working well thanks to the advise of this site. I am thinking about upgrading to a 2 speed pump. Thinking about the Hayward power flow matrix 1 hp 2 speed. I have been told that my pump s way oversized for my filter. Would that pump be a better match for me? Any thoughts? Thanks in advance

Hard to say since you do not provide any details about what pump you currently have.

I have a 1 hp on my 16000 gallon pool and it's plenty. So a 1 hp on your pool should be fine. Your current pump probably is a bit oversized. Just look for the motor with the same mounting flange and you won't have to touch the plumbing at all.
