Installing Sentry Pool Fence

Hi all,

Curious if anyone has experience in installing pool fencing. I bought the sentry safe pool fencing and using a rotary hammer drill.

How common is it to hit metal when drilling? Twice now I have encountered metal as I am trying to drill about 4" into the pool deck slab.

Its going smoothly when I don't encounter metal but just want to be sure I'm not doing something wrong since they implied hitting rebar is rare.

You are almost always going to hit metal. The pool,deck is going to be reinforced with wire mesh or re-bar. Depending on the installation, you may have re-bar around the perimeter and mesh in the field.
