Rheem 106k heater

In an ideal world you could get as much as 2 degrees per hour, but 1 degree per hour is very reasonable for the real world.

The water returning to the pool will only a couple of degrees warmer than the pool water.

Put the solar cover on regardless.

If you won't be swimming until afternoon, you can probably get away with turning the heater off overnight, but total energy usage will be similar and many people prefer not to run any risk of not being up to temperature when you want to swim (and thus leave the heater on).
