Gallons per inch

I'm trying to figure out how many gallons of water are in 1 inch. The pool is 420 square feet and I calculate that 1 inch equals 261 gallons. Is this correct? Anybody have a good formula / easy way to figure this out?

1 cubic foot = 7.48 US gallons. 420 square feet times 1/12 vertical feet is 35 cubic feet which is indeed around 260 gallons.

Thanks, I guess I did it right, although I think I took the scenic route to get the same answer. :lol:

Well, that's an epiphany for me.........I realize now I took the "scenic route" in many of my math classes.........that suddenly explains a great deal about my adult life..
