I am new to pools. I have a 18 ft round above ground, walls on 48 in. Looking for a reliable pump and filter system - leaning toward a sand filter. Any suggestions on brands, hp, or filter size would be appreciated. Thanks.

I love my Hayward pump and I would buy another without hesitation. I like having a sand filter because I do not have to get soaked when I clean it like I do with my cartridge filter in the hot tub. When my chemistry is right in my pool, I only have to backwash my 16 inch filter every few weeks. I have never had any issues with the sand.
