Major dilemma - What would you do?

Backstory, I was getting sand in my pool. My assumption was that I had a broken lateral. I did the research and ordered 5 laterals off of ebay. When they showed up yesterday, I took the filter apart and only one of the laterals was still attached to the piping assembly. Therefore, I have six laterals and need 8. None of the local stores had them on hand. The soonest I will be able to get them is Wednesday. That means 4 days without any filtration. Here are my options.
1. Plug 2 of the holes in the piping assembly. Put the filter back together and run. Would this put too much stress on my pump?
2. Order the parts and run the filter on recirculate a few hours a day just to keep chlorine up. Is this ok to do with the filter being empty(I am bypassing it right?)

What would you do?

I would go with option #2. Bypass the filter and keep good FC levels all over the pool with the recirc. That should do you fine.

Well, option 3 would be to leave the pump off and brush the pool every time you add chlorine. That being said I vote for option 2!

Well, since the rest of you seem to be on the same boring page. I guess I'll go with pooldv and make it more interesting Just kidding, thanks for confirming my thoughts.
