I just received the TF 100 and I am trying to get my initial readings. I have everything but the CYA. Do I need the black dot to disappear completely? And holding it waste high correct? I did it twice but not sure the black dot ever fully disappears before getting it full. Thanks for the help.

ok, then here are my initial readings. I am battling cloudy water.
FC=3
cc=1.5
TC= 4.5
CH=400
TA=100
pH=7.5
CYA < 20

I have about a 15K gallon pool, plaster walls, sand filter.
Add stabilizer to target 30-40ppm (maybe add 20ppm) in a sock in the skimmer.
Then start to follow the ShockLevelAndMAINTAIN Process, assuming your CYA is 30ppm or so.
Verify the CYA level in a week.

When you do this test you also want to make sure you are outside with the sun to your back. I never do this test inside, or outside if it is overcast. You can also purchase a CYA standards solution so you will know what to look for. This is a great thread on the subject;
