Gotchas with a partial drain and refill of a vinyl lined pool?

CYA levels are still high, about 105. I'm thinking about doing a partial drain and refill. Most people say to drain halfway and fill, but I've also heard that you need to be careful about how much you drain an inground vinyl pool. Are there any pointers I should take into account here?

Draining halfway is safe and should get your CYA down around 50 which is fine.

If you want to be super careful, draining 1/3 is safer but you may have to drain again since your CYA would then be about 70......a little too high for a non-SWG pool

Always leave at least a foot of water over the floor of a vinyl liner pool to keep the liner from lifting and wrinkling. Remember in most pools 50% of the water will still likely leave this much in the shallow end.
