Hi All,

I've been lurking for just under a year. We've moved into our new home July 2014. I just ordered my tf-100 test kit. Our pool was opening today and I'm ready to start maintaining my pool. Hopefully, I'll become knowledgeable enough to replace equipments as they start to fail.

How does the pool look? If it's clear, keep adding bleach until you get your test kit. Figure 3 or 4 ppm a day.

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome and the helpful links. The pool is cloudy and they did pour 5 gallons of bleach yesterday. I'm letting the pump run 7 hours a day. Unfortunately I didn't keep my water level low enough this winter and the tiles are falling off. I'm waiting for my pool putty to get in. Can't wait to see what my test kits will show.

My pool looks good but the tests says otherwise. CYA @100. I'm going to inquire with the water company regarding cost for 12k gallons of water.
