sand filter and chemicals

Hi. Im starting this thread because o have a couple questions. My pool comes with a sand filter pump. I see a lot of ppl using the saltwater chlorinator with the sand filter which is something I cannot do until next month maybe. Can I still use the regular chlorine tabs and floater? And shock treatment? Will these chemicals have a bad affect or cause problems with a sand filter?

Also. How do I go about connecting the salt system to the sand filter?

A sand filter is just fine with any way you want to take care of your pool.

Your best bet is to get a good test kit to keep your pool balanced and clear. Look at my siggy below for the link to them.

Do not use the pucks or such. They will add stuff (CYA) to your pool and cause problems over time. The best thing to use is plain, non-scented bleach like you can buy at Walmart.

The SWG I cannot help you with as I do not have one.
