Levels to high

We are new pool owners and just started opening the pool for summer. We shocked it last night with a liquid shock that included algaecide and chlorine and I just tested it today and the test strips are saying
PH 8.4
Free chlorine 0
Total alkalinity 240
Stabalizer 300
All obviously to high except the chlorine. How do I fix this?

Well, you need to throw away the test strips and invest in one of the Recommended Test Kits so we can offer advice based on reliable test results.
