Just opening our new in ground pool. 25000 gallon with Diamond Brite.
Company opened 2 weeks ago. Water is clear, but we have greenish stains on about 60% of the walls stairs and bottom.
Was told to massively shock, which we have for almost a week. We also brush the pool several times daily.
Very little improvement.
What should I do?
How did this happen? Did the company that serviced our pool screw up the closing?
I am desperate and can provide pictures
Thanks in advance,
Rex

Hi Rex, and welcome to TFP, you will definitely get the help you need here.

First off, here is what we will want to know in order to help you: What is your pool equipment (add to your signature here). Also, post pictures as this will give us a visual of the issue you're dealing with. If you don't have a top quality test kit (strips and pool store test results don't cut it here), then get on of these, preferably the TF100, the speedstir is awesome. Once you have it, post a complete set of results so we know what we're looking at regarding your water chemistry.

Those with far more knowledge and experience will be along shortly. Oh, and stop using the shock, get some unscented, regular bleach to sanitize the water. Read and re-read Pool School there is all the info you'll need, and you will also have a much better understanding of what everyone will tell you.

We'll help you get a sparkling clear pool if you follow the advice offered. Git r dun

Welcome to the forum.

If you have green in your pool, it is virtually ALWAYS a sign of inadequate chlorination.

To get your water chlorinated and balanced, we have to know where you are starting from.

To know where you are starting from means we need complete current test results. Can you get those for us?
