TA test affected by FC ?

Hello,
Before slaming, my TA was 90 ppm (i count 9 drops)

Now, at FC of 5.0 i only count 5 drops for a TA at 50 ppm .

I dit not refil the pool, nothing. I only add this morning 1kg of borax to ajust pH

I always test in 25 ml, add 2 drops of reagent 7, 5 of reagent 8 and after i count each drops
Also, i have some reagent left from last season, and i got the same result (5 drops)

There my actual result:
FC= 5 ppm
CC=0
pH= 7.5
TA=50 ppm
CYA=0

FC level will not affect the TA test. Very high FC levels may change the colors, but the test is still valid.

one of the tests must have been wrong.The TA can have static in the bottle giving higher result, you should wipe the tip between drops.

I wiped the tip for this morning test, same result .

I forgot to tell my pool have 30 ppm of borate.
Those borate may interfer??

I performed this test all last season, but this is the first year i use borate ....

So the first test must've been wrong. The borates will not have an impact.

Finnaly i got my water analysed, frome a friend, with taylor reagent .
I got the same relsult: 50 ppm

My test was correct, now i just have to manage how i could lost 40 ppm........

You didn't lose 40 ppm of TA, the first test result must have been incorrect.
