Liquid Chlorine Spill

I was unfortunate enough to have an entire gallon of liquid chlorine spill in the trunk of my car. I have one of those plastic mats, which caught the majority of it, however some splashed up on the sides of the carpeting in trunk.

I absorbed as much as I could with some old towels, then sprinkled with baking soda.

Any suggestions for clean up? Anyone else deal with a spill like this?

Thanks for any help.

I would try to keep the trunk open if you can and keep a fan going on it to dissipate the smell. One everything is dry you can try to find a carpet/fabric dye that matches the carpet to touch up.
