Minimax 100 - OK for Inground?

Hi everyone.....I've got a good deal on a Pentair Minimax 100. It states that it's for an above ground pool. We've just installed a 15,000 gallon inground pool, so my btu needs aren't that high. Is there any reason why I could not install this above ground heater on my inground pool? It's tough being a newbie.... :hammer:

I don't see any reason why it would be a problem. I think the only real difference between a heater that claims to be for IG use vs. an AG one is that the Inground heaters usually have a higher BTU rating because the pools usually hold more water.

Then again, I'm no gas heater expert either, but if it were me I'd hook it up.

HTH,
Adam

As long as your system is within the minimum/maximum flow rates for the heater, and you don't mind that it is only 100,000 BTUs, it will be fine for an in-ground pool. For the Pentair Minimax 100, the min is 20 GPM and the max is 80 GPM.
