New to the BBB

OK, so I'm in the process of switching over to the BBB method. Right now my CYA is at 90, which I know is higher than recommended. My plan is to gradually try to reduce that number over time. My concern is that according to the Chlorine/CYA chart my target FC is 10. I'd always heard that having a high FC level could ruin your pool/equipment, but what exactly could happen? So my question is what, if any, are the negatives of keeping my FC level at 10? I'm guessing that the answer has something to do with my CYA being so high, but just wanted to double check.

Thanks in advance!

The CYA kind of slows down or buffers the chlorine's action, making your 10ppm seem like a much lower level. You'll never notice it.
