Sunny Day, Pump On or Off, FC Burn Increase/Decrease

I came across a thread yesterday that said turning off the pump and letting the sun beat on the pool to warm is work pretty good even without a solar cover.

Curious if on a sunny day does FC burn faster or slower with NON moving water.

The sun will add the same amount of heat to the pool whether the pump is running or not.
All a "solar" cover really does is retain the heat that is usually lost to evaporation and radiation at night.

The FC loss should be roughly the same either way as well.
