Is the stabilizer at walmart any good to purchase?? Or should I be going to the pool store for this? No ingredients listed on the bag so couldn't tell if it was straight CYA or if there were any unwanted additives mixed in. Thanks!

Many people find that the Walmart dissolves easier than other stabilizer. Check the ingredients ... it should be near 100% cyanuric acid.
The "bag" you say?.....I purchase mine in a 4lb. plastic cylinder looking jug there with a purple top. Says Stabilizer and conditioner on the front.
Stabilizer comes in a jug. Are you sure it's stabilizer and not a bag of *Shock*?
Just got it home - it's a jug and says 100% cyanuric acid. Guess we will see how it does - thanks!

I bought the one from Walmart too. It was a 4lb jug. Pool installs Thursday I'll be using it probably Friday or Saturday once pool fills. Says 100% on mine too.

Same. Definitely took some time to dissolve in the sock placed in the skimmer, but it did the job just fine and was much cheaper than the pool store (NPS) right next door.

I think the word is out here in OK, i went to both walmarts in town and no HTH CYA left on the shelf..... Had to get the more expensive from lowes...
Yea, 96% is fine. If you do the math the nig name Pools Store is still WAY high with their 98%.
