Having the same issue. My IC40 indicates salt level is 4750 but tests indicate it's more like 3000. The salt level light is flashing green - all other lights green. All I want to know is if my cell will continue to produce CL even if it thinks the salt level is high? Thanks for any help.

Yes, the pentair IC are one of the few (only?) swg that continue to produce chlorine with high salt condition. I put over 5000 ppm in my pool and it produced CL for two years without adding salt, finally had to add salt this spring. Yes, i am a genius sometimes. :-D
You can do a chlorine test at the water return inlet in the pool. The test for chlorine should be deep yellow if you are using a basic tester.

LOL, yes maybe indeed. 
Pentair does recommend partial draining to keep salt below 4500 to avoid damaging equipment.
