Intex pump to ground pump?!

Can I buy a ground pump to use on my intex pool that has a pump that is attached to the wall of the pool? How do I switch it if so?

I believe you are talking about a Poly Group Pool (Summer Escapes or Pro Series) Intex pools come with a ground pump. I have a read several forums here on how to convert from the skimmer pump to a conventional pump / filter setup. Here is a part you might be interested in ....

My solution was a set of these..

This fitting didn't fit perfect. It was a little small on the OD of the fitting compared to the hole in the liner but did not leak at all. Bought them locally at the pool store and added a real pump.

Best thing I ever did was add a proper pump that allowed me to run a Kreepy Krauly suction side pool cleaner.

Sorry to hijack the thread...
Is this question the same as using a Hayward sand filter and pump instead of the supplied Intex pump?

An intex fitting will be 40mm threads, Standard pool equipment like a Hayward will use 1 1/2" threads.
