Has anyone experimented with using zeolite to remove ammonia in swimming pools? It's used in aquariums and fish ponds all the time for that purpose. It's cheap (it's the regular non-scoopable kitty litter). A skimmer basket full (in a nylon stocking or something) could remove a lot of ammonia.
