I would guess you are around 7k gallons and 37oz should have only added 40ppm of CYA.

Lighting makes a huge difference. It needs to be bright, but without any glare on the surface. How many times did you pour the sample back and forth between the mixing bottle and the view tube? Even after years of practice, I seldom get the same reading 3X in a row.Thats what I was aiming for
Let me go test the CYA again a few more times. This was my first time trying so I dont doubt I have errored.

Reading the extended directions I noticed it says the water should be atleast 70* and its not that warm yet.

Borax, half an hour should do it. If in doubt, give the pool a brushing, that mixes things up good.
The CYA sample can sit indoors until it warms up a little and then you can do your test.

Well I raised the FC to shock level because I'm leaving out of town till Friday. I guess we will see where everything ends up with I get home.

That is a good plan, add FC to shock level for CYA of 50. Even if it isn't exactly right it won't be too far off.

When should I filter day or night?
I'm trying to get the most heat in my pool right now when the solar cover. Wasn't sure of the water moving around during the day or evening made a difference.

Does not matter. The solar cover does not add heat. Mostly at night it retains the heat that is added by the sun during the day by reducing evaporation and radiation losses.
Today I learned if something seems off, go get a new sample and double check.
I tested and all of sudden I had a CC of 2.5 when it was less then .5 yesterday.
About to go and SLAM it I decided to take a new sample and all was right in line again, No FC loss too
