This year when opening my pool I used nature's natural vacuum: gravity.
I live on top of a hill. I filled my vacuum hose with water, just like I would to connect it to the skimmer, but took the end down the hill and took my hand off the end of the hose. It was surprising how much force that water rushing out of the end of the hose created.
Then I vacuumed my pool. The best part. All that **** on the bottom of my pool went out the hose and down the hillside. It never went through my filter or pump. In 3 days, my pool is open. A new record for me by far!
