Cloud when pump starts

14000, plaster, DI - drained pool and cleaned due to ultra high cyanuric - caulked cracks - refilled pool, started, decided to backflush and replace DI in filter. All went as planned. However, each morning when equipment starts, I get a short blast of what appears to be DI material, in an hour or 2 - pool is clear. We have 50 ppm borate, ph 7.8, cl 5, alkalinity 90, calcium 200 - all good.

That could indicate a tear in the fabric on one of the grids inside your filter.

New topic - ph7.5, TA 66, cal 250, TC 8, borate 50
I have a constant process of adding baking soda to boost TA, but then over the next 2 weeks, add acid periodically to keep pH under control, until the TA is back to 66
It seems to be a predictable cycle - everything else is good, I do have ample aeration in my pool / hot tub design with a waterfall

Ideas?
