Spa aeration: pH rise... Natural equalisation?

Hi TFPers,

I was thinking today:

1. If, in a Spa, aeration is commonplace
2. and such raises pH

would a happily-balanced Spa's pH naturally settled back down to its original lower pH if left alone for a set length of time,
or are we Spa owners always required to add Muriatic Acid / powdered equivalent on a regular basis to keep pH in check?

It just feels like I'm constantly fighting something as I keep having to add acid to the water.
Maybe it's just part of the job...

Thanks - D
