Just opened my pool yesterday. Initial test results as follows:

FC 0
cc 1
PH 8
TA 60
CH 175
CYA 25
Borate 15
temp 60
water cloudy but little to know debris

Couple of questions:

Tackled PH first and added per pool math;
Started to add stabilizer via the sock method per pool math
Decided to SLAM and saw 5PPM loss overnight. maintaining SLAM level based upon CYA + increase from added Stabalizer (to 50ppm)

Questions:

Pool math shows CSI at .8+ : Can I ignore until I get all chemicals in balance an water temp up? if not, how do you address this?
Attacking CH and TA and Borates next. will be ordering Boric Acid to address Borates since I have TA increaser already.

anything I am missing at this point for my first TFP pool opening?

thanks.

It looks like you have a good handle on it and are moving it the right direction. Just as an aside, adding borates to your pool is optional so I would probably wait a while to make sure everything else is stable.

CSI should come into line as you get all the numbers worked out.
