I am about to purchase a AGP. I was considering perma salt, until I found this forum. What would you recommend for a new fill/start up?

Welcome to TFP!!!How big of a pool are we talking about? The short answer is that you want chlorine to keep the pool safe.

25k, 33' AG. I guess what I am asking is, how does one start with the bbb method? Order a test kit, fill pool, test water(which parameters), then???

Welcome! If you do use the TFP way you will have a clean and clear pool forever!
-order test kit
-fill pool
-find good source of bleach/chlorine
-buy CYA (aka pool balance or stabilizer) you can buy it at walmart
-test water
-post test results here
-follow directions given to balance pool
