The exciting world of borates

Just looking for confirmation on my numbers before I take the plunge into the exciting world of borates. My pool is 19,000 gallons. I'm planning on ordering boric acid from DudaDiesel.com. PoolMath tells me I need 45lbs of boric acid to go from zero to 50 ppm of borates.

This is what I want, correct?

Granular Boric Acid, 55 lb
• Granular Form / White Crystals
• 99.9+% Pure - Technical/Industrial Grade

Also to confirm, if I use this, I don't need to combine muriatic acid...I just need to dump in the boric acid and then confirm my pH is still in the neighborhood it should be, correct?

Re: So you want to add borates to your pool--Why and How

Yep. 45.3125 lbs of Boric Acid. Boric acid is slightly acidic so you dont need to add any muriatic acid. Your pH will likely go from 7.6 to about 7.3 if its as pure as it states just to give you an idea.
