Draining a Gunite Pool

I want to drain about 10,000 gallons out of my 25,000 Gunite/plaster pool to bring down the CYA levels.
What is the risk of popping the pool with that amount of drain?

Are you in an area with a high water table? Is your yard soggy for a while after it rains? At the bottom of a hill? Will draining 10k gallons empty out one side of the pool?

Very little unless your ground water is exceedingly high. Even then you're talking about less than 50%. It should be fine.
