Royal Entrance Steps - anyone use them before?

Late last year I ordered new steps as I did not like the ones that came with our pool. I ended up getting the Royal Entrance Steps. The guy that is opening my pool for me this weekend says he will put them in. It seems to me that the steps aren't really sitting on anything other than the very bottom step

whats anyone's experience with these please?

Never used them n haven't really seen them in use on TFP.
