Bottom of Island

What are guys doing for the bottom of the island? I am using Hadibacker and covering it with ?

Do you leave just the hardi exposed, cover it with thinset and elevate it off the deck with leveling feet? Seal it with something?

Not sure what to do on the bottom. Rest of the island will be covered in veneer stone and granite.

I left mine bare Hardibacker, elevated off the ground with leveling feet. I have a few photos in my build album of them. C-Ya!!

Some have recommended putting a drain hole at the lowest location just in case water makes its way in.
