Just tested the pool...TA has gone down, but CSI is inline. Should I raise TA or leave it there?

pH: 7.8 (added 4oz of HCL after test)
FC: 4 (Added 1 qt of bleach to bring up to the target of 5)
CC: 0
TA: 55 (5 drops turned it red...6 drops turned it bright pink)
CH: 375
CYA: 30
Temp: 81
CSI: 0.07

You don't really want TA below 60 unless you are using borates. However, 55 is very close to 60, so you don't need to rush to raise it right this instant or anything.

In addition to affecting CSI, TA affects how chemical additions change the PH. When TA gets (way) too low the PH can swing around wildly when chemicals are added. We want the PH to be fairly stable, so don't want TA getting too low.

Thanks, Jason. pH has been stabilizing a bit. It's nice to not have to use two or three gallons of HCL every week anymore. I will go ahead and toss some baking soda in tomorrow.
