New application of diamond brite has smudges and streaks

Hi,

We just had a contractor apply a new coat of diamond brite to our pool and it looks like there's a lot of splotches and smudges. Before we filled up the pool, we had the contractor take a look and he said it's normal... Just needs to be brushed and everything will be ok. It's been a few days and the smudges/splotching is still there.

If your familiar with applying diamond brite, could you take a look at the photo (before it was filled up) and let me know if this looks normal or if I should pull the alarm on this.

That one isn't too bad. They can certainly be better, but some of what you have is normal. It's usually a little less with lighter colors like that, but some of it will improve a little. That's probably not the best answer you were hoping for, but very few jobs are 100% streak and mottle free. Yours isn't the best, but not terrible. We've already seen a couple of them here this season that were pretty bad.

Do you know what kind of startup they have planned if any?
