Mandatory info?

How about making state of residence mandatory? When looking at photos to get landscaping ideas, it helps to know if some things are possible or not. Certain plants will grow in certain parts of the country, and not in others.

I think making ANY personal info mandatory, is a bad idea.

It's really easy to find out what state someone is posting from by checking their ip address so there should be no expectation that people won't know what state you are in. I won't make it mandatory but certainly encourage people to share that in their profiles.

If you feel it's necessary, just encourage people to update their profile with that data when responding to a post.
