Where is my chlorine going?

My pool was slightly cloudy so I shocked it Thursday night with 2 gallons of 10% chlorine. Yesterday morning the chlorine levels were approx 25 ppm, this morning 0 ppm. Pool is clear but what happened. Thanks (10500 gallons)

So what else has been going on lately in the pool?

Did you have an Algae bloom or anything?

Well, you have no chlorine in your pool again. There is only one answer....more chlorine.....as much as it takes.

It is descriptive of ammonia which consumes chlorine very fast and then, when it (ammonia) is all gone by adding chlorine, your chlorine residual will start to show up. Even if it's not ammonia, the fix is still the same.....more chlorine.

Tell us some history. Did you close the pool this winter? Did you add chlorine over the winter?

Very little chlorine was added over the winter due to the fact the the water was well below 60*. The pool was still filtered on a daily basis. All was fine till about a week ago when I noticed it was slightly cloudy.

I see your Sig line shows you have a K2005 kit. Do you have another kit, or a FAS DPD chlorine kit?

And what surface do you have in your pool? Vinyl? Pebble? Fiberglass? Please add that as well.
